On The Way To The Stars a painting by William J. Reynolds. This remaining inventory out of the original edition of 1000 are numbered and signed in pencil by the artist himself and the pilot, Scott Crossfield. These 27 year old limited edition prints have been stored flat in acid free materials, are in mint condition, and have never been framed and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

On November 15, 1960 Scott Crossfield, North American Aviation Chief Engineering Test Pilot, made the first flight in the X-15 with the 60,000 lb. thrust XLR-99 engine. This was the 26th flight in the X-15 series. A speed of 2.97 mach (1,960 miles per hour), and an altitude of 81,200 feet was reached. The X-15 was launched from a B-52 bomber flying at 40,000 feet over the Mojave Desert of Southern California. Crossfield made a total of 14 launched flights after a series of captive flights in the X-15 including the first flight.

Onward And Upward - Research Airplanes - Act II

Onward and Upward was written by Scott Crossfield and was adapted from a lecture at the NCAE on March 21, 1986.

First Edition. This book consists of 64 pages, 8.5 by 11 inches and fully illustrated in black and white. It details Scott's participation in the Research Airplane era. The text is taken from a talk given by Mr. Crossfield at the 1986 National Congress of Aerospace Education.

X-15 Photo

These are 3 1/2 x 5 inch gelatin silver prints. The paper used is resin coated glossy. These are photo copies of a photograph that was signed by Scott Crossfield.

This photograph is similar to this color photo which appears to have been taken the same day, perhaps part of a publicity effort by North American Aviation. The size fits nicely into a #10 envelope and these may have been included in response to fan letters, etc. I remember Scott telling me that he responded to all mail even those that didn't include return postage.
