The A. Scott Crossfield Aerospace Education Teacher of the Year Award was created and funded by the legendary A. Scott Crossfield in 1986 and awarded annually under the stewardship of the Civil Air Patrol during the National Congress on Aerospace Education now called the National Conference on Aerospace Education (NCASE). After the death of Scott Crossfield in 2006 and the shift of NCASE from an annual to biannual conference, Scott's daughter, Sally Crossfield Farley, moved the award to the National Aviation Hall of Fame and it is now presented during the Enshrinement Weekend each July in Dayton, Ohio. Winners receive 2 seats at the National Aviation Hall of Fame President's Reception and Dinner where they are awarded $1,500.00. Winners also receive 2 seats to the Enshrinement Ceremony the following night. Lodging and roundtrip transportation costs are included.
Although the award is presented to a teacher, the accomplishments of the nominee need not be limited to the year for which the award is given.
For more information please go to the National Aviation Hall of Fame website and click on Crossfield Award.
Our sincere thanks to the Civil Air Patrol for its many years hosting this award and to the National Aviation Hall of Fame for taking this award under its wings.
